Real Numbers - Reasoning about Signs of Expressions

Real Numbers - Reasoning about Signs of Expressions

Given that \(a, b,\) and \(c\) are three non-zero integers such that:

  1. \(a \times b <0\)
  2. \(b \div c >0\)
  3. \(a<0<b\)

Determine whether each expression is always positive, always negative, or has a sign that is not fixed. If its sign is not fixed, state whether it can also be zero and justify your answer.

  1. \(a \times c\)
  2. \(b-a\)
  3. \(-b-\frac{a}{c}\)
