Congruence and Similarity - Map Scales

IP 1

A microchip diagram is drawn to a scale of \(50000:1\).

  1. Calculate the actual length represented by \(4\) cm on the diagram in \(\mu\mathrm{m}\). \((1\mu\mathrm{m}=10^{-6}\) \(\mathrm{m})\)
  2. Two sensors are \(24\) \(\mu\mathrm{m}\) apart in a microchip module; find their distance apart on the diagram in cm.
  3. A transistor on the diagram has an area of \(20\) \(\mathrm{cm}^2\). Calculate its actual area in \(\mu\mathrm{m}^2\).
