Linear Law - Predictions from Linearised Models

Linear Law - Predictions from Linearised Models

Variables \(x\) and \(y\) are related by the equation of the form \(y = 10^{a(x+b)}\), where \(a\) and \(b\) are constants. When \(\lg y\) is plotted against \(x\), a straight line which passes through the point \((1, -2)\) and \((5, 4)\) is obtained. Find the value of \(a\) and of \(b\). Hence, find the value of \(\lg y^{(2x)}\) when \(x = 3\).
