IB Year 6 | Grade 12
6 marks

Two circular pulleys have centres \(A\) and \(B\) and radii \(7\text{ cm}\) and \(3\text{ cm}\) respectively. The distance \(AB\) is \(15\text{ cm}\). A tight belt passes around both pulleys, and its two straight sections are common tangents to the circles, as shown in the diagram.
