Kinematics - Finding the Equation of Displacement from Velocity

Kinematics - Finding the Equation of Displacement from Velocity

A particle \(P\) moves in a straight line such that \(t\) seconds after starting at displacement \(-2\) metres from \(O\), its velocity, \(v\) m/s, is given by \(v = 6t + 2t^2 - \frac{t^3}{2}\).

Find,

  1. \(t\) when the particle is instantaneously at rest,
  2. an expression for the displacement of the particle from \(O\).
