INTERSECTION
\({A\cap B}\), \({A}\) and \({B}\) , elements which are common to both \({A}\) and \({B}\) .

\({\xi = \{2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9\}}\)

Consider the set \({A = \{5, 6, 7, 8, 9\}}\) and \({B = \{2, 3, 4, 5\}}\)

• The element \({5}\) is common in both set \({A}\) and \({B}\) .

\({\therefore A \cap B = \{5\}}\)

Note:
If \({A}\) is a subset of \({B}\) , i.e., \({A \subseteq B}\), then \({A \cap B = A}\) .
