Finding Areas of Similar Figures

Finding Areas of Similar Figures

TGM Original

In the diagram, \(ABD\) and \(ACE\) are straight lines and \(BC\) is parallel to \(DE\).

\(AB = 5\text{ cm}\), \(BC = 6\text{ cm}\) and \(BD = 3\text{ cm}\).

  1. Name a pair of similar triangles.
  2. The area of the triangle \(ABC\) is \(10\text{ cm}^2\).
