Temperature Changes and Effects of Adding Salt

Temperature Changes and Effects of Adding Salt

TGM Original

The freezing of a liquid is \(-7^\circ \mathrm{C}\). The temperature difference between its freezing point and boiling point is \(25^\circ \mathrm{C}\).

  1. Find the boiling point of the liquid.
  2. An addition of a small quantity of salt into the liquid decreased its freezing point by \(0.8^\circ \mathrm{C}\) and increased its boiling point by \(0.7^\circ \mathrm{C}\). Find the temperature difference between the freezing point and the boiling point of this liquid-salt mixture.
