Exponential and Logarithmic Functions - Sketching Logarithmic Functions and Solving Equations Graphically

IP 3
  1. Sketch the graph of \(y=\ln \left( 2+x \right)\). Find the equation of the straight line which must be added on the graph of \(y=\ln \left( 2+x \right)\) to solve the equation \({{\left( 2+x \right)}^{2}}{{\mathrm{e}}^{-x}}=2\).
  2. Sketch the graph of \(y=\ln \sqrt{\frac{1}{x-1}}\) for \(x>1\). Insert in your sketch the additional graph required to illustrate how a graphical solution to the equation \(x={{\mathrm{e}}^{6\left( 2-x \right)}}+1\) may be obtained.
