An object travels at constant speed when its speed remains the same throughout its journey.
However, in real-life situations, it is very unlikely or difficult to travel at a constant speed for any journey as we may travel at varying speeds for different parts of the journey.
Average speed is the total distance travelled divided by the total elapsed time, including stops during the journey.
\(\mathrm{Average \ Speed = }\frac{\mathrm{Total \ Distance \ Travelled}}{\mathrm{Total \ Time}\mathrm{ \ Taken}}\)
