Conceptual Bridging: Relationship between Trigonometric Ratios of Acute and Obtuse Angles

Conceptual Bridging: Relationship between Trigonometric Ratios of Acute and Obtuse Angles

Secondary 3

If \(\theta \) is acute, then \(180{}^\circ -\theta \) is obtuse.

In general, for any acute angle \(\theta \),

\(\begin{align} & \, \sin \left( 180{}^\circ -\theta \right)=\sin \theta \\ & \cos \left( 180{}^\circ -\theta \right)=-\cos \theta \end{align}\)
