When adding two vectors \(\overrightarrow{AB}\) and \(\overrightarrow{BC}\):
\(\overrightarrow{AB} + \overrightarrow{BC} = \overrightarrow{AC}\)

For any two column vectors, \(\mathbf{m} = \begin{pmatrix} p \\ q \end{pmatrix}\) and \(\mathbf{n} = \begin{pmatrix} r \\ s \end{pmatrix}\), then
\(\mathbf{m} + \mathbf{n} = \begin{pmatrix} p + r \\ q + s \end{pmatrix}\)
