Direct and Inverse Proportion

Direct and Inverse Proportion

IP 2

Two suppliers record the total mass of packages containing identical bars.

Number of bars, \(n\)\(2\)\(5\)\(8\)
Supplier \(A\): mass \(M\) g\(70\)\(175\)\(280\)
Supplier \(B\): mass \(M\) g\(90\)\(195\)\(300\)
  1. Which table is consistent with \(M\propto n\)? Show a numerical test for both.

  2. Write an equation for Supplier \(A\).

  3. Supplier \(B\) uses the same mass of bar as Supplier \(A\). Explain its results and write a possible equation.

Similar questions are unavailable for this question.
Answer:(a) \(A\) only; (b) \(M=35n\); (c) fixed \(20\) g packaging, \(M=35n+20\).
