Kinematics - Maximum and Minimum Motion Quantities

Kinematics - Maximum and Minimum Motion Quantities

TGM Original Questions

The velocity of a particle, in \(ms^{-1}\), moving in a straight line, \(t\) \(s\) after passing a fixed point, \(O\), is given by the equation \(v = 12t - 2t^{2}\). Find:

  1. The time at which the velocity reaches a maximum.
  2. The positive time at which the particle next comes instantaneously to rest.
  3. The distance from \(O\) at that positive rest time.
  4. The speed of the particle when it passes \(O\) again.
