Coordinate Geometry - Equation of a Straight Line

Coordinate Geometry - Equation of a Straight Line

Secondary 3

The points \(A\), \(B\) and \(C\) are vertices of a triangle.

The point \(A\) is on the \(y\)-axis and the equation of the line \(AB\) is \(3y - 4x = 6\).

  1. Find the coordinates of point \(A\).
  2. Given that the coordinates of point \(C\) is \((x, 1)\) and the length of the line \(AC\) is \(\sqrt{10}\) units, find the value of \(x\).

Hence state the possible coordinates of point \(C\).
