Coordinate Geometry - Parallel and Perpendicular Lines

IP 3

Using an algebraic or a geometrical method, show that

  1. if two straight lines are parallel to each other, then they have the same gradient, or their gradients are undefined;
  2. if two straight lines are perpendicular to each other, then the product of their gradients equal to \(-1\), or they are respectively a horizontal line and a vertical line.
