Comparing a Cylinder and a Rectangular Solid

Comparing a Cylinder and a Rectangular Solid

Secondary 1

Diagram \(1\) shows a cylindrical solid with height \(10\) cm and radius \(7\) cm.
Diagram \(2\) shows a rectangular solid with a square base of sides \(10\) cm and height \(x\) cm.
Given that the volumes of the two solids are the same, find

  1. the volume of the cylindrical solid,
  2. the value of \(x\),
  3. the total surface area of rectangular solid.

(Use \(\pi =\frac{22}{7}\))
