TGM Original Questions

In the diagram, \(ABC\) is a right-angled triangle with \(\angle BAC=90^\circ\). The points \(Y\) and \(X\) lie on \(AB\) and \(AC\) respectively, and \(YX\parallel BC\). The small and large triangles are similar. Given that \(AY=6\) cm, \(YB=3\) cm and \(AX=8\) cm,

  1. name the triangle similar to \(ABC\), writing its vertices in corresponding order,[1]
  2. find the length of \(CX\).[3]
