Binomial probability of an exact number of hits and the two success probabilities giving a stated value

An archer hits the centre of a target with probability \(0.75\) on each shot, independently of all other shots. The archer takes \(8\) shots.

  1. Find the probability that the archer hits the centre exactly \(5\) times.[2]

A second archer hits the centre with probability \(p\) on each shot, independently, and also takes \(8\) shots.

  1. Write down an expression in terms of \(p\) for the probability that the second archer hits the centre exactly \(5\) times.[2]
  2. Hence find the possible values of \(p\) for which this probability is equal to \(0.18\).[3]
