TGM Original Questions

The length of a rectangle is 7 cm longer than its breadth. The length of each side of a square is one-third of the breadth of the rectangle.

  1. Given that the side of the square is \(x\) cm, write down and simplify an expression, in terms of \(x\), for the perimeter of the rectangle.[2]
  2. Given that the perimeter of the rectangle is at most 110 cm longer than the perimeter of the square, write down an inequality involving the two perimeters. Hence, solve the inequality.[3]
  3. Hence, state the largest possible integer value of \(x\).[1]
