Optional extension

An inverted cone has radius 8 cm and height 24 cm. Water fills it to depth 16 cm. A second container is a cylinder of radius 5 cm containing a solid hemisphere of radius 2 cm resting on its base. Use \(\pi=3.142\).

  1. Find the cone curved area.[2]
  2. Find water volume in the cone.[2]
  3. Find water needed in the cylinder to just cover the hemisphere.[2]
  4. If the hemisphere is melted into spheres of radius 0.5 cm, find the number made.[2]
