A community centre organises a 3-day Sustainability Fair to raise funds for local environmental initiatives. Tickets are sold in three categories: Student, Adult, and VIP. They are priced at \(\$20\), \(\$50\), and \(\$100\) respectively. The table below shows the number of tickets sold over the 3-day event.

Student (\(\$20\))Adult (\(\$50\))VIP (\(\$100\))
Friday\(250\)\(85\)\(20\)
Saturday\(310\)\(125\)\(35\)
Sunday\(270\)\(95\)\(28\)
  1. Write down two matrices whose product represents the total revenue earned on each of the three days.[2]
  2. Evaluate this product.[1]
  3. To encourage greater community participation, the organiser is offering discounts at \(10\%\), \(15\%\), and \(20\%\) for Student, Adult, and VIP tickets respectively at a subsequent fair. Assuming that the number of tickets sold remains unchanged, using your answer in (b), evaluate the matrix product that represents the total revenue generated at the subsequent fair.[2]
  4. The organiser thinks that it is a worthwhile strategy to offer the discount as long as the percentage decrease in total revenue over the 3 days does not exceed \(15\%\). Using your answers in parts (b) and (c), determine whether the discount strategy is worthwhile. Justify your answer.[2]
