The Wong and Chew families are invited to the Ang family's baby girl's first month birthday party. The Wong family consists of two girls and their parents. The Chew family consists of a boy, a girl and their parents. The Ang family consists of a baby girl, two boys and their parents.

During the party, the children play a game that requires \(3\) players. Assume that the baby girl does not participate in the game.

  1. Find the number of ways of selecting \(3\) players if they are of the same gender.[2]
  2. Find the number of ways of selecting \(3\) players if they are of different surnames and has exactly one boy.[2]

Before the party ended, the three families took a group photo. The \(12\) people, with the baby girl in her mother's arms, are to arrange themselves in two rows of six and the parents of the baby girl are together in the middle of the first row. Consider the mother and the baby girl as one unit.

  1. Find the number of ways they can be arranged if the parents of the Wong and Chew families are all next to each other, in the back row.[3]
