There are four numbers. The first number is half of the second number. The third number is \(6\) less than the first number. The fourth number is \(\dfrac{2}{7}\) times the third number.

  1. Given that the first number is \(x\), write down expressions, in terms of \(x\), to represent the second, third and fourth numbers.[3]
  2. The average of the four numbers is \(27\). Form an equation, in terms of \(x\), and solve it.[3]
  3. Hence find the sum of the first and third numbers.[1]
