The graph of \(y=\mathrm{f}\left( x \right)\) has a maximum turning point at \(\left( 2,3 \right)\) and passes through the origin. The lines \(x=-1\) and \(y=2\) are asymptotes to the graph, as shown in the diagram below.

  1. State the range of values of \(x\) for which the graph of \(y=\frac{1}{\mathrm{f}\left( x \right)}\) is increasing.[1]
  2. Sketch the graph of \(y=\mathrm{f}'\left( x \right)\), showing clearly the axial intercepts and the asymptotes.[3]

Answer:(a) \(x\geq2\) (b) Vertical asymptote \(x=-1\), horizontal asymptote \(y=0\), \(x\)-intercept \((2,0)\), \(y\)-intercept \((0,\mathrm{f}'(0))\) with \(\mathrm{f}'(0)>0\), \(\mathrm{f}'(x)>0\) for \(x<-1\) and \(-1<x<2\), and \(\mathrm{f}'(x)<0\) for \(x>2\)
