A wire is bent into the shape of a rectangle. Its length is \(4\) cm less than \(3\) times its breadth. Given that the breadth of the rectangle is \(x\) cm, find an expression, in terms of \(x\), for

    1. the length of the rectangle,[1]
    2. the perimeter of the rectangle.[1]
  1. When the same wire is bent to form a square, the area of the square is \(100\text{ cm}^2\). Find the perimeter of the square.[1]
  2. Using your results in (i)(b) and (ii), form an equation in \(x\) and solve it.[2]
  3. Hence, find the area of the original rectangle from (i).[2]
