A curve \(C\) has parametric equation \(x=4\sin 2\theta -2\), \(y=3-4\cos 2\theta \) for \(0\le \theta <\pi \).

  1. Find a cartesian equation of \(C\). Give the geometrical interpretation of \(C\).[3]
  2. \(P\) is a point on \(C\) where \(\theta =\frac{3}{8}\pi \). The tangent at \(P\) meets the \(y\)- axis at the point \(T\) and the normal at \(P\) meets the \(y\)-axis at the point \(N\). Find the exact area of triangle \(NPT\).[5]
