TGM Original Questions

A maker buys \(60\) sensors at \(x\) cents each and \(40\) cables at \(y\) cents each. The total cost is \(\$68\), and the sensors cost \(\$28\) more in total than the cables.

  1. Form two equations in \(x\) and \(y\) to represent the information.[2]
  2. Solve the equations obtained in (a) to find the cost of one sensor and the cost of one cable.[3]
  3. The parts are packed into \(20\) identical kits, each containing \(3\) sensors and \(2\) cables. Find the cost per kit and the selling price per kit for a \(25\)% profit.[3]
