(a)

State the [latex]x[/latex]-coordinates of the stationary points for the curve [latex]y=\text{f}\left( x \right).[/latex]

Hence determine the nature of these stationary points.

(b)

State the maximal range of values of [latex]x[/latex] such that the curve [latex]y=\text{f}\left( x \right)[/latex] is,

(i) concave downwards,

(ii) increasing.
